Brandon and Jenna's Mom, a spiritual entrepreneur, philanthropist, animal and nature lover, and author with a financial consultant background.  My passion is turning my past experiences and wisdom into a springboard for helping people through my websites, presentations, and books.  I am the founder of Life Talks, Positive Thoughts on Life, and This Is Not Brandon websites. Why I do this:  I am dedicated to making this world a better place by helping people change and recreate their lives after tragedy.  I do this because I know that no one has to suffer and live in lack no matter what their past may have been, how long it may have been, or what your current circumstances are.  It is my own past and experience that drives me to this purpose.  There is no better teacher and no replacement for experience.

Patience

Waiting can be very powerful.  If you can wait, you can sometimes achieve something you couldn’t have today.  Things happen when the time is right…when we’re ready, when God is read, when the world is ready.  Give up, let go, but keep the goal on your list.

You First

Learn to work harder on yourself than you do on your job. I’ve worked hard on my personal development, and I must admit that this has been the most challenging assignment of all. This business of personal development lasts a lifetime. But here’s the great axiom of life: To have more than you’ve got, become more than you are. Unless you change how you are, you’ll always have what you’ve got. – Jim Rohn, from his classic “Lessons on Life” gift book.

Success

“How do I define success? Let me tell you, money’s pretty nice. But having a lot of money does not automatically make you a successful person. What you want is money and meaning. You want your work to be meaningful, because meaning is what brings the real richness to your life.”   Oprah Winfrey

“Don’t aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally.”
 David Frost

The Things we Regret…Slow Down

“Regrets for things you did can be tempered by time; it is regret for the things you did not do that is inconsolable” Sydney J. Harris

SLOW DOWN

Have you ever watched kids on a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly’s erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

You better slow down.
Don’t dance so fast.
Time is short.  The music won’t last.

Do you run through each day on the fly?
When you ask how are you, do you hear the reply?
When the day is done, do you lie in your bed?
With the next hundred chores running through your head?

You better slow down.
Don’t dance so fast.
Time is short.  The music won’t last.

Ever told your child, we’ll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste, not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch, let a good friendship die.
Cause you never had time to call and say “Hi”?

You better slow down.
Don’t dance so fast.
Time is short.  The music won’t last

When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.

When you worry and hurry through your day
It is like an unopened gift thrown away.

Life is not a race, do take it slower.
Hear the music, before the song is over.

Live The Life You Want

Affirmations have the ability to transform bad habits into good habits. They allow you to be and stay mentally focused. Affirmations have the power to help you live the life you want. Think about this… how many successful people out there say to themselves, “I’m not that great… there are so many people out there that are better than me?” The answer is none!

Your affirmations cannot be vague; they must be specific and believable. If you choose to say to yourself, “I am going to make a million dollars in 2012,” you very well may be setting yourself up for failure. Ultimately, you may want to make a million dollars, but let’s face it, you’ll need to do a lot of work to get there. The secret is to change the affirmation to specific actions.   Your affirmations shouldn’t be just the desired result; they should be the actions you take to get the result you want.

Affirmations are another word for prayer, meditation, visualization, imagination, etc.  They are powerful encouragements that you feed yourself when repeating them.  List your affirmations and read them aloud in the morning when you wake up, during your day, and before you go to bed at night.  Then watch the magic happen!

“I figured if I said it enough, the world would believe me”  “I am the greatest” Muhammad Ali

Friendship

If you want to make friends, treat people unselfishly

Dogs don’t read books on psychology but they know what to do because they are interested in people.

If children live with hostility, they learn to fight.
If children live with fear, they learn to be apprehensive.
If children live with pity, they learn to feel sorry for themselves.
If children live with ridicule, they learn to feel shy.
If children live with jealousy, they learn to feel envy.
If children live with shame, they learn to feel guilty.
If children live with encouragement, they learn confidence.
If children live with tolerance, they learn patience.
If children live with praise, they learn appreciation.
If children live with acceptance, they learn to love.
If children live with approval, they learn to like themselves.
If children live with recognition, they learn it is good to have a goal.
If children live with sharing, they learn generosity.
If children live with honesty, they learn truthfulness.
If children live with fairness, they learn justice.
If children live with kindness and consideration, they learn respect.
If children live with security, they learn to have faith in themselves and in those about them.
If children live with friendliness, they learn the world is a nice place in which to live.

And finally loves you for YOU..

PASSION

“The steps are simple…find your passion and live it!” Pam Grout

“The average human being squanders his imagination, hoards her love, and has no clue about the depths that exist within his own soul.  People are unhappy because they lead lives that are way beneath them.  They are exhausting themselves on meaningless things.  Pam Grout
