People talk about the reality of their life as if it is important. And we want you to understand, it’s only the temporary indicator. Do you go to the gas station—your gas gauge is on empty—do you go to the gas station and look at your gas gauge in horror? “How did this happen? [Fun] Why, why, why did this happen to me?” Do you lay your head on the steering wheel and just sob? “Oh, look what it’s come to. [Fun] I’m finished. I’ve lived all of this life, and look where I am.”

Or do you just fill up.

Giving Up is Giving Up on YOURSELF

Never give up on yourself.  Giving up is just saying that you are not worth it.

 

 Today my daughter was on her way to an interview.  She gave herself ample time to get there, but a freeway closure was going to make her late.  She called me and asked if she should cancel it.  She had looked so forward to this that circumstances outside her control should not stop her.  So I told her to call and tell the interviewer the circumstances and that she was on her way and still wanted to come.  She went and she got the job.

 

 Giving up is giving up on yourself…and outside circumstances should not get in the way.

Life doesn’t happen if you quit or give up after one month or ten tries.

Life happens when you persist in spite of setbacks and disappointments. 

Life happens when you are in the game for the long run.

The Resolve Has to Come From Within

“I don’t want people to feel sorry for me because of what I went through as a child.  That serves no purpose and it would not make me feel good.  Instead, I hope people will admire me and use my resolve as a role model for what I was determined to overcome. The resolve has to come from within, and I chose to use it to benefit me instead of inhibit me. I want people to know that my difficult past shaped my wonderful future to be what it is today. I want people to know that I came out the other end a better person”

I would rather die living than live dying. 

 Some people are afraid to live.  They play it safe and become a prisoner of what they never wanted.  They have dreams and even believe in themselves, but give up too easily.  Then their soul dies.

 But there is a dream that belongs to you only and you can’t be afraid to pursue it.

 I would rather die living my dream than survive living a life that isn’t me.
