Brandon and Jenna's Mom, a spiritual entrepreneur, philanthropist, animal and nature lover, and author with a financial consultant background. My passion is turning my past experiences and wisdom into a springboard for helping people through my websites, presentations, and books. I am the founder of Life Talks, Positive Thoughts on Life, and This Is Not Brandon websites.
Why I do this: I am dedicated to making this world a better place by helping people change and recreate their lives after tragedy. I do this because I know that no one has to suffer and live in lack no matter what their past may have been, how long it may have been, or what your current circumstances are. It is my own past and experience that drives me to this purpose. There is no better teacher and no replacement for experience.
Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like Algebra class. But the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
“When you allow yourself to feel gratitude in the present moment, in the now, what I promise you is that the spiritual dimension of your life begins to change. It opens up, it expands and you just grow with it. That is the truth if I ever spoke the truth in my life. If you want to change your state of being, start to be grateful” Oprah Winfrey from her Lifeclass
“Trust that there is life, hope and renewal even when it appears there is not. Hold onto the vision of what can be…even when nothing seems to be presenting itself to you. There is a time of blossoming that is mysterious. Your future is waiting, a work already in progress. Each step forward invites cosmic forces and unexpected miracles into your life” Kathy Freston
On Mother’s Day when my children were babies and, of course, didn’t know what the day was, I thought about how backwards Mother’s Day is. We honor Mom and bring her gifts for all she has done for us…a beautiful and loving tribute that she deserves. But my idea of Mother’s day was that I felt blessed and grateful simply for being able to celebrate the fact that I was a Mom. All I could think about was how much I wanted to thank my children for giving me that honor. I’ve spent my entire Motherhood with the same grateful sentiment. So tomorrow I will celebrate Mother’s Day in my heart the same way I have for 23 years in thanking my children for giving me the two best gifts of my life and how wonderful my life has been to know them. Velinda
Happy Mother’s Day tomorrow to all the Moms out there…have a wonderful day.
In honor of Mother’s Day, my book will be free on Monday May 14th for the entire day on Kindle
We tend to forget that happiness doesn’t come as a result of getting something we don’t have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have. Being grateful for what we have and focusing only on that instead of what we don’t have has the Power to turn around our perception and our attitude. Think about all the things in life you are truly grateful for and I bet those things are what is most meaningful to you in life!
