Brandon and Jenna's Mom, a spiritual entrepreneur, philanthropist, animal and nature lover, and author with a financial consultant background.  My passion is turning my past experiences and wisdom into a springboard for helping people through my websites, presentations, and books.  I am the founder of Life Talks, Positive Thoughts on Life, and This Is Not Brandon websites. Why I do this:  I am dedicated to making this world a better place by helping people change and recreate their lives after tragedy.  I do this because I know that no one has to suffer and live in lack no matter what their past may have been, how long it may have been, or what your current circumstances are.  It is my own past and experience that drives me to this purpose.  There is no better teacher and no replacement for experience.

Today’s Thought: Taking that first step towards a New Life

“I have found that you do have only to take that one step toward the Gods, and they will then take ten steps toward you. That step, the heroic first step of the journey, is out of, or over the edge of, your boundaries, and it often must be taken before you know that you will be supported” Diane K. Osbon

Bipolar Disorder

Bipolar Disorder.

Recently Catherine Zeta-Jones announced she was Bi-Polar ~ and good for her!  Awareness of Bi-Polar disorder is important because millions of people have the disorder and leave it untreated.  Truth is, many people who are Bi-Polar and do not get help open up the possibility of suicide at some time in their life because suicide among Bi-Polar sufferers is common.  It doesn’t have to be this way as medication and treatment is very effective and with it, people can and do live normal lives.  Please get help if you suspect you are Bi-Polar or know of anyone who is.  Help is easy and fast with medication and treatment and all you have to do is start.  Thousands of lives will be saved with help and maybe one of those is a loved one.

Stress Management

A lecturer when explaining stress management to an audience,
Raised a glass of water and asked,
“How heavy is this glass of water?”

Answers called out ranged from 20g to 500g.

The lecturer replied, “The absolute weight doesn’t matter.
It depends on how long you try to hold it.
If I hold it for a minute, that’s not a problem.
If I hold it for an hour, I’ll have an ache in my right arm.
If I hold it for a day, you’ll have to call an ambulance
In each case, it’s the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes.”

He continued,
“And that’s the way it is with stress management.
If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later,
As the burden becomes increasingly heavy,
We won’t be able to carry on.”

“As with the glass of water,
You have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again.
When we’re refreshed, we can carry on with the burden.”

“So, before you return home tonight, put the burden of work down. Don’t carry it home you can pick it up tomorrow.”

“Whatever burdens you’re carrying now,
Let them down for a moment if you can.
So, my friend, Put down anything that may be a burden to you right now. Don’t pick it up again until after you’ve rested a while.”

Today’s Thought: Make a Difference

“I have found the paradox that if I love until it hurts, then there is no hurt, but only more love” Mother Teresa

“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world” Anne Frank

“While some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do. ” Apple Computer, Inc.

“Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does” William James

Tax Day ~~~

People who complain about taxes can be divided into two classes: men and women. Unknown

We have long had death and taxes as the two standards of inevitability. But there are those who believe that death is the preferable of the two. “At least,” as one man said, “there’s one advantage about death; it doesn’t get worse every time Congress meets.” Erwin N. Griswold

Did you ever notice that when you put the words “The” and “IRS” together, it spells “THEIRS?” Unknown

Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably ~ and never regret anything that made you smile. The best things in life are free until the government finds out and taxes it.

Thank You ~

It’s time to say thank you to all 307 wonderful people who have joined this site. As we do not advertise, spreading the word is our only way. We are working on a website ~ slowly, and there is so much more to come ~ slowly! If only there was more time in the day ( :

Today’s Thought: If not now, when?

“My philosophy is that not only are you responsible for your life, but doing the best at this moment puts you I the best place for the next moment”  Oprah Winfrey

“It’s never too late ~ never too late to start over, never too late to be happy”  Jane Fonda

“It’s never too late to be what you might have been”  George Eliot

“If I am not for myself, then who will be for me”  And if I am only for myself, then what am I? And if not now, when?”  Rabbi Hillel

Today’s Thought: “Persistence is visionary” Daphne Rose Kingma

“Persistence is knowing that in the face of a thousand reasons to be discouraged, you choose to carry on no matter how seemingly hopeless the present situation may seem. The power of persistence is required especially when we’re dealing with intense, emotionally devastating circumstances or difficult things that have stacked up all at once” Chris Attwood and Janet Bray Attwood

“Nothing can take the place of persistence….not talent, or genius, or education. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent” (paraphrased) Wolfgang von Goethe
