Brandon and Jenna's Mom, a spiritual entrepreneur, philanthropist, animal and nature lover, and author with a financial consultant background.  My passion is turning my past experiences and wisdom into a springboard for helping people through my websites, presentations, and books.  I am the founder of Life Talks, Positive Thoughts on Life, and This Is Not Brandon websites. Why I do this:  I am dedicated to making this world a better place by helping people change and recreate their lives after tragedy.  I do this because I know that no one has to suffer and live in lack no matter what their past may have been, how long it may have been, or what your current circumstances are.  It is my own past and experience that drives me to this purpose.  There is no better teacher and no replacement for experience.

Dogs ~ always our best friend

Someday and one of these days ~

This was written by an 83-year-old woman to her friend.  The last line says it all. *

I’m reading more and dusting less. I’m sitting in the yard and admiring the view without fussing about the weeds in the garden. I’m spending more time with my family and friends and less time working.Whenever possible, life should be a pattern of experiences to savor, not to endure. I’m trying to recognize these moments now and cherish them.I’m not “saving” anything; we use our good china and crystal for every special event such as losing a pound, getting the sink unstopped, or the first Amaryllis blossom.

I wear my good blazer to the market. My theory is if I look prosperous, I can shell out $28.49 for one small bag of groceries. I’m not saving my good perfume for special parties, but wearing it for clerks in the hardware store and tellers at the bank.

“Someday” and “one of these days” are losing their grip on my
vocabulary. If it’s worth seeing or hearing or doing, I want to see and hear and do it now

I’m not sure what others would’ve done had they known they wouldn’t be here for the tomorrow that we all take for granted. I think they would have called family members and a few close friends. They might have called a few former friends to apologize and mend fences for past squabbles. I like to think they would have gone out for a Chinese dinner or for whatever their favorite food was.

I’m guessing; I’ll never know.

Just Thoughts

I have thought a lot about the killing of Osama Bin Laden. Today the quote by Martin Luther King Jr., has been posted numerous times. I agree with Martin Luther King Jr’s  statement that we should not rejoice in the killing of a human being.  I am not rejoicing and I am not celebrating his death.  However, I know that the world is a safer place now that he is gone.

Love dissipates hate, but it cannot always change a steadfast philosophy of domination as practiced by people like Osama Bin Laden.  He is not the first to feel the need to kill innocent people because of a cause and he is not the first to be destroyed by his own personal hate.  Unfortunately, we cannot change a man of such immorality, even with love.

Lest we forget the thousands of innocent people who died on that day in September, 2001.  They did not hate Bin Laden and unlikely would have tried to harm him.  Lest we forget that he has killed many of his own people…why?  Lest we forget his choice of domination was to kill.  It was his choice and his mindset.  Why?

So I ask…would you protect yourself if you were being attacked on the street by a person who had no concern for your life and wanted to kill you?  Would you protect the life of a loved one from the same person who was attacking them?  Would you protect your children from the same person who would harm them or perhaps kill them?  Of course you would?  So why is what the United States did to Bin Laden any different?  We are protecting the innocent, loving people of this country…as well as the world, from people who do not share the same values for human life as we do.  We did not choose this war, but we have to protect ourselves from it so more loving, innocent people will not die.  We must be realistic about these situations and act accordingly.

People like Bin Laden self destruct in the long run because they are evil and in the minority.  Most human beings are loving, compassionate people who have no thought of harming others and so, therefore, cannot tolerate in any respect the acts of someone who thinks with such hate.  We do not deserve to become victims of the Osama Bin Ladens or Adolph Hitlers of this world and that is that!  When you choose to think and live as he did, you choose your own demise eventually.

What the United States did to protect our lives was necessary.  Again, we did not choose this, but we are responding because we have to.  To allow him to live would have opened up the probability of more innocent lives dying for his twisted cause.  There was no other choice.

I am proud to live in the United States, a Country that stands up for their convictions.  I am proud that we fight for what we believe in and that our fight is for righteousness and good.  I am proud that we kept our commitment to make our Country a better and safer place to live by facing terrorism head on.  I do not condone killing, but sometimes it is necessary to protect against those who do.

The 90/10 Principle

The 90/10 Principle

Life is 10% what happens and 90% how we react to it.

Absolutely everything we do, give, say, or think is like a boomerang. It will come back to us. If we want to receive, we need to learn to give first. Even if we end with our hands empty, our heart will be filled with love. And those who love life have that feeling marked in their hearts.

Hoping you make this a wonderful day, remember, at least 90% of it is up to you!

Rules of Relationships for Women

Rule #1:  You marry at the level of your own psychological health.  You get the man you deserve.  Men don’t select their life partners, women do.  Women chose the wrong man over and over again because of what they are not.  If you think you are half a person, you will select the same.  If you think you must suffer from emotional neglect, you will choose a man who will be distant. If you choose a man on the basis of romance, idealism, chemistry, salvation, the result will almost always be bitterness and hurt.

Rule #2:  Happiness is what you’re willing to settle for, so be careful that you don’t settle for the minimum.  You get the man you deserve because you get what you ask for. A somebody sees the difference between asserting herself and subjugating herself.  A nobody is thrilled at any offer and can’t turn anything down.  Nobodies make decisions because they think they don’t deserve better.  They select men who mistreat her because they don’t expect to matter.

Rule #3:  If you can change your behavior, you will change the way you think. Having control over your life is as sweet as your reward…the right man. The messages you send need to be positive.

Allowing Love Again

Dear God, “I want to be lovable, and prepared for a beloved. Please remove from me the walls in front of my heart. Please take from me the games I play to deny myself the joy of life. Please make me new that I might know an enchanted romance. Then send to me my heart’s delight. Please open up the heavenly gates, that love might flood my soul” Marianne Williamson

Your Intention Connection

Let others feel your positive vibe.

Dr. Wayne W. Dyer Your Intention Connection

By Dr. Wayne W. Dyer

Your impact on others shines back on you.

When you feel connected to and in harmony with the universal mind of intention, you’ll sense a major difference in how other people react to you. These reactions are important because they bear directly on your ability to fulfill your own individual intentions, your goals and dreams. The more closely you resonate with the frequencies of the universal all-creating Source, the more others will be impacted. They’ll gravitate toward you, bringing peace, joy, love, beauty, and abundance into your life. Here, in my opinion, are some of the ways in which you’ll impact others when you’re resonating with intention:

Your presence instills calmness.

When you coincide with intention, your impact on others has a calming influence. People tend to feel more at peace, less threatened, and more at ease. The power of intention is the power of love and receptivity. It asks nothing of anyone, it judges no one, and it encourages others to be free to be themselves. As people feel calmer in your presence, they’re inclined to feel safe, by virtue of the energy frequencies that you radiate. Their feelings are encouraged by your energy of love and receptivity, causing them to want to reach out and be with you.

Your presence leaves others feeling energized.

When you bring the frequencies of intention into the presence of others, they’ll feel energized just by being in your immediate circle. You don’t have to say a word. You don’t have to act in any prescribed fashion. Your energy of intention alone will make others in your field feel as if they’ve mysteriously been empowered. They’ll want to assist you in fulfilling your own dreams.

Your presence allows others to feel better about themselves.

Have you ever noticed when you’re in the presence of certain people that you feel better about yourself? Their compassionate energy has the noticeably pleasant impact of simply making you feel really good about yourself. You’ll impact others with this energy of compassion as you develop your connection to intention. People will sense that you care about them, understand them, and are interested in them as unique individuals.

Your presence allows others to feel unified.

The effect of being in the presence of people expressing high frequencies is to feel unified and connected to all of nature, all of humankind, and to intention. As you raise your frequencies, your impact on others invites them to be on the same team. You are unified and want to assist each other in the fulfillment of a common objective.

Your presence instills a sense of purpose.

When you’re in the higher spiritual energies, your presence and behavior from a space of love, acceptance, nonjudgment, and kindness becomes a catalyst for others to feel on purpose in their lives. By staying at the higher energies of optimism, forgiveness, understanding, reverence for Spirit, creativity, serenity, and bliss, you radiate this energy.  The people around you begin to feel your quiet reverence and serenity. Your own purpose, which revolves around serving others and therefore serving God, becomes fulfilled, and as a bonus, you create allies.

Your presence allows others to trust in authentic personal connections.

By bringing the traits of intention to others, you allow trust to be present. You’ll notice both an inclination and a willingness on the part of others to open up and confide in you. This is related to the quality of trust. In the atmosphere of higher energy, people trust and want to share their personal stories with you.

Your presence inspires others to greatness.

When you’re connected to Spirit and quietly reflect this consciousness, you become a source of inspiration to others. In a sense, this is one of the most powerful effects that connecting to intention transmits to others. The word inspiration means “in-spirit.” The fact that you’re primarily in-spirit means that you inspire rather than inform with your
presence.

Your presence aligns others with beauty.

When you’re connected to intention, you see beauty everywhere and in everything because you’re radiating the quality of beauty. Your perceptual world changes dramatically. At the higher energy of intent, you see beauty in everyone, young or old, rich or poor, dark or light, with no distinctions. Everything is perceived from a perspective of appreciation rather than judgment. As you bring this feeling of
beauty appreciation to the presence of others, people are inclined to see themselves as you see them. They feel attractive and better about themselves. When people feel beautiful, they act in beautiful ways.

Your presence instills health rather than sickness.

Your connection to your Source keeps you focused on what you intend to manifest into your life, with no energy given to what you don’t want. This internal focus doesn’t permit you to complain about what ails you or to think about disease, pain, or any physical difficulties. Your energy is always on creating love, and expanding the perfection from which you originated.

More thoughts on Parenting

If we had a child, or anyone, and we caught them doing something inappropriate, we would not amplify it with our words. We would identify what it is we do not want, and then out of it would come the rocket of desire of what we do want, and then we would just visualize, visualize, visualize, until we find peac…e within our vision. When you make someone and their action the heart of a vision that you’ve spent time on — your relationship improves, your experience is better, and they receive the benefit of the experience. But if you catch them, and see them, and worry about it, and put mechanisms in place to prevent it, now you have not only amplified it, you have now made a commitment that is hooking you both into that, until usually it gets big enough that you break apart, and then you attract others to fulfill that role.

Parenting

Parents owe it to their children to tell them what they need to know, even if it does embarrass them to say it…you thought I would hear what I needed to know from my friends…what a big mistake. My life was spent chasing information in books that gave me no information of living life and being successful at it. From Secret Regrets
